Syeda Malaika Ali

Syeda Malaika Ali is an 18-year-old equity-focused leader and incoming Freshman at Stanford University, where she intends to pursue a career at the intersection of International Relations and Economics with secondary concentration in Mathematics.

Malaika brings a powerful blend of financial acumen, grassroots advocacy, and public service. She successfully managed a $65,000 revenue budget, independently fundraised nearly $13,500 over four years, served as a dedicated advocate for over 600 students where she amplified underrepresented voices and championed for equitable opportunities for her Title I school, and much more. Her passion for civic engagement has led her to serve at multiple levels of government, where she’s connected directly with community members and important policymakers. Now interning for California’s 32nd Congressional District, Malaika is committed to using her social, political, and academic expertise to expand EwL in order to provide a supportive educational environment for those who weren’t given the same opportunities.

Malaika is driven by an unshakable belief that every woman and child - no matter their circumstances - deserves the chance to shape their own future and have access to quality education. She passionately advocates for financial independence and educational equity by leveraging her experiences, and hopes to inspire others to join her mission in creating lasting change in underserved communities.
